This Week in Slashwork

Slashwork has video. Plus account and composer polish, and a round of importer performance and stability work under the hood.

The Slashwork team shipped a significant amount of additional features and polish

🎥 Video

You can now upload and play videos in Slashwork. Server-side video attachment type, web upload and playback, and native upload/playback all landed this week. On Android we switched to react-native-vision-camera for in-app capture, which is significantly snappier than what we had before.

🖥️ Desktop app, in progress

We've been quietly working on a proper Slashwork desktop app this week. It's coming along — we have the Slashwork UI loading just fine, including desktop notifications. There's a lot of polish though before it's ready — we'll have more to share soon.

🏎️ Importer performance and stability

We did a big round of perf work on the importer. We won't bore you with all the details, but importing data from a large Slack installation or a well-used Google Chat workspace is now a lot faster.

💬 Feed composer polish

The group selector in the feed composer got several improvements: filter input at the top, better keyboard control, and a fix for the dropdown repositioning when you change the filter. Picking the right place to post is now noticeably faster.

🔐 Account sessions

Your active sessions now show up in the account settings page. You can see where you're logged in, and end sessions you don't recognize.
